We arrived around noon on Saturday and our first stop was a giant, buffet-style restaurant. They had all kinds of food - a parrilla with asado (Argentine barbecue), Italian, Asian, fiambres (cold, sliced meats and cheeses), salad, and a whole variety of desserts. It was pretty tasty, but mostly fun just because it was with all of the ISA students. Then after getting checked into our hotel around four, we had the rest of the day to do whatever we chose! A few friends and I spent the afternoon walking around the city and sight-seeing. We went to see el Monumento a la Bandera (the Flag Monument), which was very impressive! The monument is right by the river, río Paraná, so we just spent some time walking around that area and browsing through a market. On our walk back to the hotel we stopped in a few stores on Avenida Córdoba, which is a pedestrian street, and just enjoyed the weather, the city, and people watching! The evening was spent hanging out with friends, and a group of us went for a late dinner out at a restaurant. It was wonderful!
Sunday morning, after having breakfast and checking out of the hotel, we headed to la Playa Florida! It was an absolutely gorgeous day out and perfect beach weather - warm, sunny, and a bit of a breeze. Until we left to return to Buenos Aires, we just relaxed on the beach, soaking up the sun and enjoying time with friends. It was great!
